Terms

These terms cover your use of System Prompt (“we”, “us”). By using the site or getting its emails, you agree to them.

01What System Prompt is

A service that writes essays for one reader at a time, on stories in the news and new research, from the reader’s side and from the other side, and sends them by email. You answer a few questions, see where you land, and choose how often essays arrive.

02Essays are written by AI

Every essay is written by an AI model. An essay argues one side of a question on purpose, and it can still be wrong or incomplete. Facts come from the sources listed under each essay: check them before you rely on anything. The founder does not review each essay and does not necessarily endorse the views expressed.

03Not advice

Nothing on System Prompt is investment, legal, medical, tax, or other professional advice. Talk to a qualified person before you act on something that matters.

04Who can use it

You must be 18 or older. System Prompt is not open in the European Union, the EEA, or the United Kingdom yet. Use your own email address, one account for each address.

05Acceptable use

  • Do not sign up anyone else, or use an address that is not yours.
  • Do not try to get around rate limits or daily caps, overload the service, or scrape it.
  • Do not try to make the AI model write something harmful, or use the service to harass anyone.
  • Do not probe, attack, or reverse-engineer the service or the data behind it.
  • If you share an essay, say that it was written by AI.

06Yours and ours

What you tell us stays yours. You let us use it to run the service, as the privacy page describes. You may read, keep, and share the essays written for you for personal, non-commercial use. The site, its design, and its code belong to System Prompt.

The turning head on the home page is drawn from a 3D scan of a plaster cast of a portrait of Plato (Royal Cast Collection, SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark, KAS2111), which SMK has released into the public domain.

07The service as it is

System Prompt is provided as it is and as available, without promises that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose. We may change it, pause it, or stop it. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss that comes from using the service or from relying on an essay.

08Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. The date at the top changes when they do, and we will tell you by email before a change that matters takes effect. If you keep using System Prompt after that, the new terms apply.

09Ending

You can stop the emails or delete your account at any time, from your account or from the page every essay email links to. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or end the service, and we will tell you by email where we can.

10Contact

Everything these terms let you do, you can do yourself, from your account.
